The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process has begun for the proposed Makena Mauka project in accordance with Chapter 343, Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes (HRS) and Title 11, Chapter 200.1, Hawaiʻi Administrative Rules (HAR).

THE EISPN PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD IS NOW OPEN

On June 8, 2024, an Environmental Impact Statement Preparation Notice (EISPN) was published in the State of Hawaiʻi’s Office of Planning and Sustainable Development’s Environmental Review Program’s “The Environmental Notice." 

 

The EISPN public comment period is now open and has been extended to 60 days. The deadline for receipt of written comments regarding the potential environmental effects of the project is Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Written comments received during the 60-day public comment period and responses to substantive comments will be included in the Draft EIS.

EIS Scoping Meetings

The first EIS Scoping Meeting will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Malcolm Center. The address is included below as well as navigation via Google Maps for your convenience.
